But more seriously, there is this fascinating aspect of how we sometimes use keyboards for writing and how more and more we also use them for *speaking.* Most of the complaints about “kids ruining language” is not understanding both modes exist, and also the gradient in between.

Fine, yes, for short messages, but if there are two sentences, do you use just one period? Like a 19th-century author, or an insane person?! This is why it’s better always just to use an ellipsis... (๑・̑◡・̑๑)
