I’m giving a talk today while jet lagged, emotionally exhausted after a night of watching midterm results, in the middle of a cold, and with two lithium-ion batteries strapped to my ankles. Please wish me luck. 0_O

Post partum: I think it went well! My body was aching and there were technical difficulties, but I think I managed to hide both from the audience. And the batteries did not explode. Thank you all for best wishes.

I try to write down my thoughts after giving a talk in the interest of improving (either this talk, or my public speaking in general) – what felt right or wrong, etc. I don’t know if this is useful for anyone – many items are highly contextual – but I thought I’d share here.pic.twitter.com/ENoykHHbEw

This is so generous to reveal. Thanks so much. I’ll definitely model in my future work.

Thank you, please let me know if it works for you! I find getting feedback after a talk is close to impossible – harder even than with writing – so I’m trying to take ownership of that myself.

Regardless of the approach, writing down thoughts soon after finishing, and then re-reading them when preparing for the next talk, always feels to me like nice continuity and sense of progress (even if the talks are unrelated).
