It's definitely an interesting creation story. And then there's the resurgence in popularity as people rediscovered them in the search for distraction-free writing tools.

I found new materials about it to peruse… but I’m not sure if there’s room for it, since I already have TRS-80 Model 100, Hemingwrite, Wheelwriter, and Canon Cat in the relevant chapter. :·)

Well, it is your book :) but let me know if you change your mind after you've read a bit more about AlphaSmart.

Yeah. The scope of the book is still an ongoing dilemma. There are so many interesting stories and people and things!!!

What a time to be alive! I once backed a book about The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers. The author is still writing... currently on the third volume!

Ha! That’s why if I do Kickstarter or something similar, it won’t be until text and photos are all locked down. :·)

Wow! Thanks for that. Seems to be an old Cherry keyboard, modified. https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=70612.0 … shame there are no hi-res photos or photos of the inside!
