I find large line-height on small devices and viewports absolutely uncomfortable to read and suspect they frequently come about because of all kinds of reason that are not explicit design intent. But taste definitely varies. Just cautious to suggest new airy standards.

I think part of me is responding to the number one type advice given to web designers having been “add some line height” for over a decade. Why can’t it just be built in?
