As it happened, Underwood No. 5 was a great typewriter. It became massively popular, and became something of a keyboard layout standard.

I could be overvaluing its importance but British pre-decimal prices were written eg 5/- for five shillings, 1/6 for a shilling sixpence, so yes, very common.
