New CSS units for cap-height (cap), x-height (ex) and line-height (lh) are being drafted. Type on the web is catching up fast. https://www.w3.org/TR/css-values-4/#font-relative-lengths …
I’m excited, but I don’t think there is any lens where this would be considered “fast”?

I think it might be more accurate to say “faster than before when it comes to type”. With grid and variable fonts, the web has made significant steps forwards and they seem to show its commitment to better typesetting and layouts. It’s still catching up!
