Just found out about you on the web -- are you familiar with my father Paul Lippman, the typewriter historian, and his book? I'm his son, @Kiwiwriter47

Hey! Thank you for contacting me. Can you tell me more about your father…? I have a bunch of his writing in my archives, including this – possibly not the most important, but something that stuck with me. :·) (My DMs are open in case that’s easier.)pic.twitter.com/3liXLB9ieB

Reach out to me at Kiwiwriter47@gmail.com He remains one of my role models for journalism. The biggest thing he taught me was when I was four years old...if I wanted to do anything in life but push racks up and down 7th Avenue, I had to learn to touch-type.

He said to avoid horrid jobs, I would have to work in an office. Offices meant typing, and that meant touch-typing, and to this day, I can type at 110WPM. He was a fascinating guy, and I can talk about him at great length. He died at age 55+ from a series of strokes and my mother

who was a borderline narcissist...she used me, my brother, and him as punching bags. Our family story is an utter nightmare. Dad was a great advertising writer, fantastic cartoonist, quintessential New York Jew, and loved the city of his birth. I have his cartoons and letters

I also have his book on the actual computer disk he wrote it on, which is now obsolete, but intact. Dad did cartoon biographies of his parents. He died five days after my wedding, so he never got to meet his granddaughter, who also has brilliant cartooning ability. They never met

which is the single greatest regret of my entire life, although I have a lot more. But I have the Third Avenue El lantern he swiped from the last train on May 12 1955 over my desk and I turn it on when I do serious work at my computer.pic.twitter.com/CqTC3BxghF
