I fear it's because they don't care about the professional market. Mac was once the core of their business, now it's just a way to make iOS apps.

Maybe, but I suspect they have taken a bath on returns/repairs due to that keyboard. They should swallow pride and fix what's broken.

At $700 for end users to replace the keyboard, I'm sure it's still a pretty penny for them. I can't even begin to fathom their stance here.
