Useful? Probably not. Playful? Definitely. Useful by proxy as a result? Probably. I don't see the harm in it, you don't switch alignment every 2 minutes, in the right kind of app, this could be nice.

I wonder if it could be actually useful in some cases: making it easier to understand the relationships when you’re learning or when this is applied to other types of alignment (e.g. hyphenation or when non-text objects are involved) or when the text disappears off screen.

Left align -> justify with
@bram_stein's variable font justification engine. I'd watch that to better understand what's happening at line level. But animating a word coming off the right edge into the left edge (essentially a reflow!) that can be quite messy (and not useful)?1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
I imagine you make it disappear into the right margin (crop from the right) while it appears from the left margin on the next line. :·)
