Alas, PAMF removes any bold, underline, and links inside. I have always wanted something in between: don’t override fonts and font styles when I paste, but preserve the important “internal” styling – just do it the way they would happen if I pressed Ctrl+I where I was etc.

(But perhaps how and where we used these things are different.)

MS Word does this(-ish), with 3 paste options: plain text, "merge formatting" (which matches the surrounding formatting for most of the text, but keeps internal italics, etc.), vs keep source formatting. But I agree: for webby things, I usually want "keep the HTML, not the CSS"!pic.twitter.com/SC43oolnd4

Ah, that’s a good way of putting it. Another, although more obscure mental model: keep Markdown, drop the rest.
