The @Google Pixelbook touchpad is horrible at ignoring a resting thumb. With no bezel around the small touchpad, there is no where else to rest my thumb. Super weird that I don't see more complaints about it in reviews.

I want to love the Pixelbook & ChromeOS. Certain things feel fantastic. Some things feel dated, unfinished, or just poorly thought through. Le sigh...

I hear you! It's hard to get people excited about such core UX missteps. It's as if the lower in the UX stack you go, the less people care

Why is that? Perhaps people just assume all of these things have been solved…?

My journey from Mac to Win10 has been a roller coaster of bad trackpads, odd defaults, and hypersensitivity. When I point it out, most just shrug: they somehow cope, not calculating the cost

Core things working well and working reliably is the #1 reason I use Apple products. I prefer Android enough (and it isn't that far behind) that I deal with non-Apple reliability on my phone.

But even Apple is losing the grip. Notes barely keeps up with my typing. Scrolling on the iPhone feels worse than in 2007. The choose your wi-fi network menulet in Mac OS is a nightmare of delays and unpredictability.

(All these feel *very* core to me, and this is just off the top of my head. And, all of these used to work better.)
