By design. (15% randomness in opacity.) I tried glow, too, but it made transitions too slow.

I meant in the original photos. This would be easy to achieve in a COLR/CPAL or OT SVG font! Definitely makes the font look more alive, like in your type tester!

If you were to be realistic, I think you’d have to count the “light” time of each individual physical segment, and then age it properly depending on that. :·)
