Hot dang! Tonights #C64 coding session has me going crazy because I'm finally understanding a lot of things.
I set a problem for me and could actually solve with code, although it took a lot of time.

I'm sad I wasn't around during the height of the 8bit computing Era, but I'm so happy I get to work with the C64 today and make stuff for it! Its by no means easy, but so damn rewarding! Id say do it, it's definitely worth it!

I never learned it but I was able to modify some of the byte code that was printed in mags like SoftSide and Antic. Mostly the code that changed colors during the HSYNC to get more colors onscreen.

I eventually wrote bunch of assembly for PC/VGA and so on. It was fun. But nothing for Atari. Didn’t have a disk drive. :·(
