We're expecting some turbulence. The seatbelt sign has been illuminated. DBH on Christianity in America: No nation in the wake of Christendom’s decline has done more to confuse the story that Christians should tell with the kind of stories sinful human beings long to tell. 1/6

Wanted to see the CHAZ for myself and am happy to report many media outlets are blowing things out of proportion or outright lying. Families. Free tea. Helpfully placed hand sanitizer even. Less of a Mad Max dystopia and more like a Phish concert. Not that I’d know 😉

Real change requires protest to highlight a problem, and politics to implement practical solutions and laws. As I mentioned yesterday in our town hall, there are several steps our mayors and elected officials can take right now:

This evening, the President of the United States stood in front of St. John’s Episcopal Church, lifted up a bible, and had pictures of himself taken. In so doing, he used a church building and the Holy Bible for partisan political purposes.

Tonight President just used a Bible and a church of my diocese as a backdrop for a message antithetical to the teachings of Jesus and everything that our church stands for. To do so, he sanctioned the use of tear gas by police officers in riot gear to clear the church yard. 1/1

These are the rantings of an insecure man trying to look strong, after building his entire political career on racism and the lie of birtherism. He is — again — failing to address the underlying injustices facing black Americans. It is not leadership.

The React Core team is joining the Facebook employee walkout today in solidarity with the Black community.

Facebookʼs recent decision to not act on posts that incite violence ignores other options to keep our community safe. The policy pigeonholes us into addressing harmful user-facing content in two ways: keep content up or take it down. Like many of our colleagues, we believe that this is a self-imposed constraint, and we implore the Facebook leadership to #TakeAction.

Signed,
The engineers on the React Core Team

Interesting to see an alternative to Node.js. I’ve appreciated Node, yet it’s also good to see a fresh approach taken here.
