additional points: In these data, it is impt to breakdown truly asymptomatic vs pre-symptomatic vs mildly symptomatic also to note that the % reported or estimated to be "asymptomatic" is not the same as the % that are asymptomatic that actually transmit

Sorry to over-parse this, BUT: Asymptomatically-infected patients are patients who are infected through asymptomatic transmission, which is VERY different from what you seemed to say in the news conference. Can you clarify?

That's not how I read it. Asymptomatically-infected would seem to denote those who have been infected but have no symptoms. Like the term "walking wounded" doesn't mean people who were wounded while walking.

A few other studies suggests significant fraction of transmission are during the pre-symptomatic phase: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41591-020-0869-5?fbclid=IwAR3x2cKnIDqZfFIpOn6R04KCFDkD7y2Fn1jVlQHC1G8Uq9iCt0w8H7OXmpk … https://www.eurosurveillance.org/content/10.2807/1560-7917.ES.2020.25.17.2000257 … and very high Ct threshold during the pre-symptomatic phase:https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2008457 …

There are insufficient data to make this assertion! No prospective studies of people infected without symptoms and precise definition of magnitude of their transmissibility. Viral load = w/ or w/o symptoms cc

If I understand correctly, she says most of them actually did have some mild symptoms, which were unnoticed in the research.
