BTC may be more vulnerable to be disrupted as a digital jewelry than I thought. Liquidity is not a moat, memes are not a moat, being first is not a moat, brand might be a moat

Digital jewelry: fixed supply scarce assets, with a shelf life determined by block reward. Fixed supply PoW blockchains are attempting to be digital jewelry, long term unsustainable but short term attractive while block rewards exist

🤯🤯🤯 how did I miss this. DeFi interest rate swaps with the liquidity and UX of an AMM!

There's some relation between fixed supply, digital jewelry(that are pretty much useless but seen as valuable) and variable supply assets that produce tons of value

Token burns are an inferior form of “dividend” to actual payout of fees. Payout of tx fees in a native appchain token is inferior to payout in a more liquid/ “monetary” asset, like BTC, ETH, stablecoins. Some projects exploring this: (ETH), (BTC), (sUSD) /4

"Leveraging decentralized exchanges can also help the regime convert cryptocurrencies to fiat through channels that cannot be effectively controlled by outside regulators" Just want to point out that this is not true. DEXes dont help convert crypto to fiat

Uhh "For example, Iran has been facing record-high inflation since 2019, but by using DeFi, Iranians can borrow from global markets at rates much lower than those inside Iran." From: H/t 's newsletter:

Of all the issues below, the fiat-crypto onramp is by far the biggest source of friction and the biggest problem. This is why new fiat onramps like are so critical( and why they're obvious good investments)

Is land a security? Almost nobody would argue that it is. Yet there clearly exists a value capture relationship between land and the city it resides in. I believe ETH and Ethereum share the same relationship

These kinds of relationships are common in society, and a lot of them aren't considered securities! Consider the relationship between land and its city. The more economic activity flows through a city, the more likely that land inside the city would be valuable

Great article. Minor addition as it seems some have a problem with the "Equity" framing. Imo, the article uses "Equity" as a shorthand for "Value capture relationship"
