It’s obvious, this EU proposal must be stopped. This is also important for the rest of the world. As puts it: "If the 447 million citizens of the EU vote to weaken these technical systems, it could affect all consumers of computer security technology worldwide."

It also seems like the slippery slope has started already. At a press conference Ylva Johansson talked about drug dealing on and that she has already started the discussing to broadening the usage of the chat control system.

If the European Commission’s law proposal #chatcontrol becomes reality, a new EU center for mass surveillance will be built. Here are some name proposals from us: Ministry of Truth, Soma or maybe Secret Archives of the Universal State. More suggestions, anyone?
