sob, i have a LOT of images in one page, most of them are invisible, and sometimes when i turn one visible firefox has just... given up and thinks it's completely transparent

deterministic enough to file+report? (can check it out, this sounds like it's literally the problem of my team lol)

seems to be extremely arbitrary when it happens and when it decides to unhappen (though opening the same image in a new tab does fix it)

(btw this sounds like an image cache bug which is normally a HUGE nightmare to reproduce and fix, so if you have anything even vaguely consistent, as in, try it a bunch and it will happen in a minute or two, that would be awesome to have!)

ok it seems to happen fairly frequently, and early on, in this VN, if you just page through it a bit apps.floraverse.com/vn/circlet-of-
it explicitly waits for every <img> to load first, yet sometimes a few of them will just come up blank

Are you using developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web to wait for the images to be decoded? The load event doesn't guarantee that image is ready to be displayed
i'm not, but i've sat and stared at a missing 800×600 image (the only visible thing on the page) for like a minute and gotten nothing, so i'm not sure that's it
i might switch to this though, i didn't realize it avoided the need for a load event as well
