Answer from 2008 Some people have accused Mufti Taqi Usmani of saying that one can write Surah Fatiha with urine, quoting his book: “faqhi maqalat” volume 4, page 146. Does such a book exist, and did he give such a ruling? Read here:

‘Compatibly’ is what’s important in marriage, not similarity in age (number). At times, there is compatibly despite a big age gap, and at other times, there is no compatibility despite similarity in age.

Two great brothers, Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani & Shaykh Mufti Muhammad Rafi’ Usmani, may Allah protect them both.

They say, “according to me this is impermissible.” And who are you to have an ‘according'?

Life is all about ups & downs, happiness & sorrows, health & illness, positives & negatives, good & bad relationships, ease and struggles... Its the nature of this temporary abode, which comes to an end very quickly. Real life is in the hereafter, for which we should prepare.

It is ironic that the majority of Muslims today in Imam Bukhari’s region (Uzbekistan), including his city (Bukhara), are followers of the Hanafi School. Image below, an excerpt from my recently published book, which can be obtained from here:

I personally don’t like the term “ghayr muqallid” (non-muqallid) for those who don’t follow fiqh madhabs. It can come across as derogatory, sounding a bit similar to “non-muslim”. Best to avoid... (Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam at the course on Taqlid & Madhabs this past weekend).

“O group of jurists (fuqaha), you are doctors/physicians and we (hadith scholars/muhaddithun) are pharmacists” From the weekend course on “Understanding Taqlīd, Madhabs, Ijtihād & Fiqh Methodologies.”

The jurists (fuqaha) & mujtahid imams are like doctors who delve into medicines and prescribe them, whilst hadith scholars (muhaddithun) are like pharmacists who give out the medicines. The jurists dissect & prescribe the hadiths, whilst the muhaddithun record & transmit them.
