Two days ago, at Marseilles train station, the French police apprehended a man who, according to the travellers pointing him out to the police, acted suspiciously - i.e. spoke Russian and carried with him electrical equipment. Turned out to be 48yo Bulgarian handyman.

First they came for the Bulgarians ... What could possibly go wrong by allowing huge corporations to monopolize, dominate, and regulate speech in the public forum?
-
I totally disagree with their doings, but Twitter isn’t a public forum by any means.

By that logic anybody frequently tweeting in English has "links" to the British or USA governments? And Twitter wants to be the arbiters of good and bad speech? It's the "Catholic Inquisition" all over again.

Could try out http://blockpress.com as an alternative if you're sick of Twitter. Blockpress is uncensorable like Bitcoin - being built on the blockchain - and handles international alphabets via Unicode. Powered by Bitcoin Cash. You can get some at http://free.bitcoin.com .

Unbelievably ignorant not to know that Bulgaria uses Cyrillic alphabet and that Bulgarians are not Russians.
