This is a recycled Neocon argument from the Bush era. Kim Jong Un is already the dictator of North Korea. Trump meeting with him is not going to make that any more or less true. As the leader of his country, Kim Jong Un already has a "stage". He has hardly gone unnoticed.

By far one of the most preposterous arguments against diplomacy. How does our refusal to grant Saddam the “appearance of legitimacy” look now after 15 years of war with no discernible strategic benefit? Perhap meeting with him was worth a try? Could results have been worse?
