I think the fear is that this could be a slippery slope to banning, or at least regulating, video games. What amazes me is how dismissive they are--as if even considering the possibility that a video game could ever influence real life behavior brands you as an idiot.

Or, they see violence in movies, tv, and everywhere else in society and they feel unfairly targeted. Additionally, rap & video games have been used to vilify peeps in the past and some remember that.
