Immediately inferring that there must be some corrupt motive is misguided. Plenty of people within the organization share the mainstream view of Trump/Russia, and express themselves accordingly. Not much more to it than that.

FWIW: inferring that there must be some corrupt motive behind The Intercept's publication of this is misguided. Many within the org share the mainstream view of Trump/Russia and are permitted to express themselves accordingly. Not much more to it than that

There's no indication that he's in any way enforcing those views or infringing on the editorial process. It just so happens that people within the organization share them.

How does it feel to be so wrong about the most important political scandal in American history? By the time this is over you’ll be working at the In-N-Out Burger.

You avi makes you look very sane and rational. Which is then reinforced by your incisive writing. Good job.

The most telling thing (for me) about this whole thing with Risen is how he jumped in to try to rescue Brennan's Russiagate disaster. And how can I not be shocked by the irony of an Intercept headline that resurrects the "Is Snowden a Traitor?" meme.

The Trump/Russia collusion ranks right up there with Saddam Hussein colluding with Al Qaeda ( & manufacturing WMD as well as anthrax to send to congress & media) both in dastardliness and believability.

Same propaganda that is being spewed from msnbc, cnn, etc. The "rulers" of the west are really going full throttle in their attack on Russia & the supposed link to this admin when in reality the link seems to be more between Russia & the Clinton campaign. Strange times.

When dealing with tensions between nuclear powers at the brink, that is a troubling framing to start. One would hopefully begin with a notion that defusing such tensions is in both countries interests.

So the "journalistic hero" must be wrong because he now disagrees with your narrative? And he's basically just following Occam's razor.

I wonder if basing your opinion in reaction to popular opinion is the best way to get to the truth?

Sad to see the intercept publish pieces that buy into the “national interest” myth. Also, comparing Trump-Russia to Lenin is ridiculous

Risen demonized & slandered Wen Ho Lee as a Spy and nearly ruined Lee's life.

LOL at anyone wondering if Trump has America's best interests at heart, but if it's any consolation, I'm quite certain he doesn't give a damn about Russia, either.
