Trump didn't reference the federal budget deficit once in his speech tonight. Obama referenced it in every single one of his seven SOTU speeches

1st, he didn't do squat in re spnding and taxing. Congress did. 2nd, the nominal amount of the federal "debt" is meaningless. 3rd, look into how much of that debt is held by the Federal Reserve and other parts of the Federal Govt. 4th, it's all in USD, which the US issues.

Something to highlight next year. Record high tax collections with cut in deficit spending. Heard it here first...

It's part of the division of responsibilities. The GOP cuts taxes and run up the deficit, the Democrats reduce the deficit by cutting popular programs. The next Democrat president is virtually guaranteed to be a deficit hawk. Again.

Yes he referenced it and then raised it. How about we get a president who doesn't talk about it and just lowers it?

"THE DEFICIT" is NOT A FREAKING PROBLEM! Spending at the federal level is not limited by revenue! Taxes do NOT fund federal spending. Congress could pay for an amusement park on the moon and it would not cost us a nickel! #LearnMMT
