A handful of idiot pundits are going to say Trump "seems presidential" tonight or whatever, and that's going to be presented as evidence that the media's gone soft on Trump, even though there's more open media hostility to Trump than any president in modern history

There's a reasonable argument to be made that Trump in fact *deserves* this open hostility. But the lingering denialism in certain quarters that the unprecedented hostility even exists is leading to bizarre analytical blindspots

It's kind of strange that the media do not hit Trump on issues that could hurt him more (e.g. Carrier laying off people) and decide to focus mostly on his potty mouth behaviour and Russian speculation.

Don't forget tomorrow the big story in the Times or Post about something about Russia to change the subject.

One big Tell is the way the media treats the 'secret memo'. They want it to remain secret. Why does a 'free press' insist on keeping secrets?

The hostility is quite deserved and doesn't even reach the level of critical journalism. Never has such so much consistent stupidity been proclaimed by a world leader.

Reading your tweet in light of the memo, i.e., the biggest problem we have is POTUS acting presidential. Instead, do we have a govt policing agency used for political purposes by one president against, first a candidate, then attempting to thwart a legally elected president...

Either that or major news will break regarding #ReleaseTheMemo and/or Rosenstein. I'm curious if Trump will address the "Russia hoax" as he looks for a way to get closer to Mueller. Would that "seem presidential"?
