Michael Tracey Retweeted New York Times Video

It's still scandalous that despite the centrality of US policy in causing this crisis, neither major party candidate was *ever* pressed on the topic over the course of the entire 2016 presidential campaignhttps://twitter.com/nytvideo/status/943276645091332103 …

Yemen is on the brink of famine. One of the poorest countries in the Middle East, it is now practically sealed off from the world by a sea and air blockade imposed by Saudi Arabia. https://nyti.ms/2D7gxuE  pic.twitter.com/SSFJIipr0Q

That's a humongous, morally despicable collective failure on the part of US media, but no one particularly cares because it doesn't fit into any conventional partisan grievance narratives

The US *is currently* intervening by providing essential diplomatic and material support to Saudi to facilitate their offensive

So? We do that to most of our allies and it's not illegal, or sleazy or wrong. If you want to complain about the crap Saudi Arabia's doing, that's fine, but it ignores how the Houthis STARTED this conflict and could end it just by giving up their illegal coup.

Indeed. One can easily see why both Trump and Clinton would want to steer clear of the topic but the press, it turns out, were just as single focused and partisan as the rest of us. https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2016/09/yemen-saudi-arabia-obama-riyadh/501365/ …

I wonder howHRC would have handled this crisis.Guess we'll never know since the media were more interested in her emails & her husband's infidelities from decades ago. Anyway,it's the folks that enabled a trumpwin who should ask themselves now how they canlive w #Yemen situation

No worries. Some nebulous, aka Soros driven, lesbian black women are on it. They're sure to save us all. Except Lester from 227 certainly gives us pause.

The middle east has been filled with war-mongering tyranny for at least 14 centuries, and this is our fault? I'm no fan of US middle east policy over the last 20 years, but this seems a stretch.
