The whole “boy who cried wolf” phenomenon. All the false alarms have led half the country to ignore real scandals after so many rumored ones have proven false.

The real danger is that these repeated mistakes understandably fuel the “fake news” narrative leading half the population to dismiss all stories - even legit ones- from mainstream outlets. This is the corrosive unintended consequence of the feverish desire to destroy Trump.
