Not arguing otherwise. Simply pointing out that employers using off-hours political speech as the basis for termination raises issues.
And I'm further pointing out that the kind of worker protections that organized labor advocates would've made imposing these firings harder.

Public campaigns against workers for advocating BLM, pro-Palestine, etc. can and will happen if we accept this principle without reflection.

What do you think the remedy should be now to protect other workers from a hostile work environment under current circumstances?

I don't claim to have a remedy. But ideally there'd be some kind of appeals/adjudication process even for the most personally vile worker.

I agree on principle that at-will employment is bad, but can you ask other workers to wait until we win organized workplaces everywhere
