Most of the "hyper-local" websites that are supposed to be replacing established newspapers are just PR repositories. Hardly journalism.

When I was *just* starting I wrote briefly for one such site. The "editor" chastised me for asking mildly skeptical Qs. to the Police Chief.

Hardly anyone does. The only option is NJTV which has gone downhill.
