while the electors should (and will) elect Trump, don't call it "popular will." Trump won the system, not the popular vote.

Popular will as expressed by the Electoral College, which is the system for gauging popular will.

so the total votes for/against someone have no impact? Electoral votes are electoral votes, not popular votes...

The national popular vote is not a relevant metric in terms of determining who won the election. Please just accept this.

I agree that it doesn't reflect the metric of who won the election, but it is an expression of who was most popular. Simple as that

But that's not what electors are duty-bound to honor. They are duty-bound to honor the popular will as expressed in their state.

i agree with you, mind you. I said that Trump should be elected. I just said it can't be called "popular will" w/o qualification

There doesn't need to be any qualification, because the national popular vote is not a binding metric in any official sense.
