On the recent "Federalist" podcast
@jameshohmann admitted that many national reporters stopped traveling in the final month of the campaign. -
They deemed the race "over" and concluded that talking to voters in distant "swing states" was no longer worth the time or effort.
-
First of all, even if the race really had been "over" at that point, talking to voters in the country would still have been "worth it."
-
Sitting around manically refreshing
@FiveThirtyEight all day doesn't give you any useful information. Talking to voters does. -
Because journalists ceased talking to voters, they could not discern the late shifts that were pivotal in tipping the race to Trump.

@mtracey Agreed, but—with respect—“they”? Are you not also a journalist? The finger-pointing has got to stop before anything can change.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
