I'm surprised I haven't read more on this from the perspective of a philosopher or a logician.
It's really the lowest form of casuistry. Maybe I'll write a little something.
to those who say a vote for Jill Stein is a vote for Trump, then who do I vote for to vote for Jill Stein?
One could argue it does relative to voting for Clinton, but assuming that baseline seems like a form of begging the question.
Like if someone hasn't voted, can they be called a latent Trump (or Clinton) voter. It strikes me as an interesting question.
Right. Why blame those folks who at least care about democracy, but not the lamers who stay at home? Hypocrisy. :( @mtracey
Also, why automatically assume that it would have gone to Hillary? Maybe vote for Stein is a vote for Hillary.
The crux of it is that Dems are too childish to accept responsibility for losing, they were petrified that it would happen again
Yep. Also stupid is the argument that not voting for Trump 'helps' Hillary. Which I get told about 30x a day.
WTF? Do they honestly think that the people voting for Johnson would vote for Clinton if he weren't running?
it's difficult to use common sense with these people.
Notwithstanding the criminally disenfranchised, candidates who received > 537 votes were “spoilers” — so ALL except “Write-ins."
would you say that about a vote for McMullin too? Especially because the sole purpose of his candidacy is to help Hillary?
people fail to realize that it's syntactic ambiguity: trump supporters can also say that a vote for johnson/stein is a vote for HRC
