So we've entered a new era, with a new dominant media ethos. That can be a good thing. But it needs to be acknowledged and reckoned with.

Media critics can't stay mired in yesteryear when phony "objectivity" was in fact the dominant ethos. It's clearly been supplanted.

Reckoning with this shift requires a degree of self-awareness and self-criticism that I doubt most media are capable of. But we shall see.
