Were Trump to win, he'd face a scenario where both parties are essentially in "the opposition." No precedent for this in modern US history.

Some prominent Republicans do not support him. They'd likely be exalted and gain followings. So yes, there is some evidence.

That would happen among some. There wouldn't be one unified response. Thus the coalitional fracturing.
