Media was generally pro-Trump during the GOP primary because it embarrassed conservatives. Since ~March, vociferously anti-Trump.
"pro-Trump" might be the wrong way to put it: during the GOP primary they were Trump-friendly, or at least decidedly non-hostile.
I'd agree media was *very* Trump friendly in GOP primary, but for institutional—shiny new thing = ratings!—vs. ideological reasons.
In the liberal media it was for "ideological" reasons: they perceived Trump's success as discrediting the GOP, so rooted for him
Reed F. Richardson Retweeted Michael M. Grynbaum
Well, "liberal media" is vague canard, I'm referring to all cable news doing this (purely for ratings).https://twitter.com/grynbaum/status/737661559640621056 …
Reed F. Richardson added,
"Vague canard?" I'm talking MSNBC, Mother Jones, and so forth: the actual liberal media.
MSNBC has more liberal pundits, but its *news coverage* has notably tacked right. http://www.mediaite.com/online/msnbc-now-openly-bragging-about-abandoning-its-liberal-brand-in-new-ad/ …pic.twitter.com/MW9OvKj87t
You're really going to deny that MSNBC is "liberal media"?
If you're talking about MSNBC, you have to distinguish between primetime & morning. Morning Joe is not liberal.
In totality, it is "liberal."
