I did read the statement. She expressed "regret" for uttering it in the manner she did. Thus the AP tweet is totally accurate.

She's the one who used the word "regret." That denotes a revocation of the statement. No one forced her to use that word.

So she regrets her central claim last night, withdraws the statement, and offers a new one. AP tweet completely accurate.

It was correct as composed, but vague by virtue of Twitter's character limit. I have no problem w/ them offering clarification

Frankly AP should cease deleting its tweets in response to partisan fury. Clarification is fine, but not deletion.
