It has to indicate *something* about voter enthusiasm. In 2008, Obama signage was all over the place. Even in 2012, it was visible.

I regularly traverse NJ and I've seen a grand total of one HRC item. Meanwhile, Trump yard signs everywhere. It's just odd and conspicuous.

Yeah, I was citing a poll there. Not my own intuition.

I guess the proliferation of Obama signage all over the country in 2008 was completely meaningless.

So I guess it was utterly meaningless when Obama signage proliferated the entire country in 2008z

I think it's fair to say it means "something" but whether it's decisive in an election as unclear (EG with Bernie).

No, normal people across the spectrum who disdain corruption did that. Don't blame the "extreme right"

And I was a volunteer throughout the primary and general. Signs were typically available for those who wanted them.

Clinton has received far more votes than Trump or Sanders, so there are obviously some Clinton fans out there.
-
The point of this observation is to gauge relative levels of enthusiasm. Especially enthusiastic fans display signage. Simple.

Didn't Peggy Noonan try (and fail miserably) to find meaning in this in 2012?
-
She predicted that Romney would win based on crowd size and similar metrics. I'm doing nothing of the sort here.

Remember how Peggy Noonan wrote that piece about how Mitt would win bc she saw more Romney signs?
-
Yeah and I've said nothing remotely comparable to that here. Talking purely about voter enthusiasm.

You know someone makes this observation, incorrectly, every election? Peggy Noonan wrote a famous piece in '12 abt Romney signs.

-
I'm not using it as evidence that Trump is likely to win, I'm saying it's imprecise evidence of relative enthusiasm levels.
