I regularly find free street parking in Manhattan -- including weekdays, during business hours. People are always bewildered to learn this.

It's not that hard! Just allot some extra time and mind the (byzantine) signage.

Some people are lucky. My dad could always find street parking in Chinatown. He just had mazel.

Common in most of the world, actually. Parking is an expensive asset--takes up so much real estate space.

I was thrilled that I easily found street parking in front of Madison Square Garden two times that I went there.

Parking spots go for $100,000 in Hong Kong, for example.

Public transportation in NYC is great -we often stay somewhere in Long Island & rely on it to travel around. Please give it a try.
