In speaking to Sanders delegates / staff / organizers at the DNC, there's a sincere belief that with a few tactical shifts, he could've won.

Namely, with a few organizational tweaks in the early states, he could've swept IA-NH-NV (more than feasible) -- would have devastated HRC.

Let's assume they're right -- a few organizational tweaks would've led Sanders to victory. What does that say about the strength of HRC?

So was Obama a “weak candidate” because he barely beat HRC in 2008?

No, he was a strong candidate because he was an insurgent with minimal party backing, overcame structural hurdles, and won.

It says that she is a terrible candidate, which is what we've been saying all along. Even w/o her baggage, in a change election

Did they start out thinking he could win? Strength of candidacy seemed to take even Sanders by surprise.

if he had gotten closer Clinton would have adjusted her strategy. She barely touched him during the primary.

And if he was front runner, he would have faced much more scrutiny. Media covered as a horse race. He got free pass on a lot.
