In Arizona, around 40 delegates are non-Trump supporters, despite being bound to Trump. Let's assume at least 5 are die-hard #CruzCrew.

AZ state law says all GOP delegates are required to vote for Trump. But what if a group of
#CruzCrew just refuse? http://www.azleg.gov/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/ars/16/00243.htm&Title=16&DocType=ARS … -
The statute specifies no legal penalty for refuseniks. And it seems doubtful that some AZ state prosecutor would be moved to invent charges.
-
Talk of "bound" delegates tends to assume the existence of a coercive mechanism to enforce the binding. At least in AZ there's no such thing

Curious if
@bmaz has ever looked into this. - 2 more replies

@mtracey There's no enforcement mechanism. See here: http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/how-republicans-can-still-say-no-to-trump/ … -

@Jack_Da_Homie I'm referring to what criminal penalty unfaithful delegates may or may not face per their state's law.
