Not sure there's a principle issue so much as common sense- ballot looks very different than it did a month ago.https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/711957958272360448 …

@LPDonovan What's the principle at play here, beyond "Early voting benefits Trump in this specific case, and we don't like Trump"?

@LPDonovan In which case the principle would be: early voting for primaries is bad given the volatility of ballot composition.

@LPDonovan It just seems like the working is premise is always: "this helps Trump, therefore it's bad" rather than anything more durable.

@mtracey purest form of this concern came in FL where you had an unknown number of banked/wasted Jeb votes. Same vein here.

@LPDonovan But again: this seems to flow from the premise of "we need to stop Trump." If EV helped Rubio, I doubt there'd be consternation.

@LPDonovan That's why you need a principle rather than just post hoc rationale. Otherwise it looks like circumstance-dependent opportunism.

@mtracey I get it- but not being from AZ I can't say I appreciated that there was a 30 day EV period until seeing the tweet. Bad idea jeans.
