If Joe Biden's son tested positive for cocaine, why wasn't he charged with a criminal offense? http://reut.rs/11yBYkI

.@mtracey I'm sure many of us have wondered about favoritism, but in other situations does your employer call the cops if you test positive?

@StillUnsocial Well, in this case his employer was the federal government

.@mtracey I know, but failing the test doesn't necessarily mean being arrested. He was fired. Failing a test may be enuf only for that.

@StillUnsocial Failing a test means he possessed an illegal substance in his system.

.@mtracey Yes, I know that. Sufficient for employment dismissal, probably not for a criminal charge.

@StillUnsocial I would like to know what the normal protocol is for such incidents.

.@mtracey I would, too. Very valid question. But my guess is they fire you, they don't call the cops on the basis of a bad drug test.

.@mtracey To me, it's sufficient that Hunter Biden was discharged and when it came out he didn't lie about it or make excuses. It's too bad.

@StillUnsocial This occurred in June 2013 and didn't come out till now. Suggests an attempted coverup.

.@mtracey I have no doubt they didn't want it to come out. But a discharge, like a firing, is usually a private personnel matter.

.@mtracey What's interesting to me is that this revelation was made shortly before the midterm elections.
