I was asked on the radio last night, isn't it awful how some online right-wing personalities have defended Tulsi. My reply: stop sitting on Twitter and go into the real world, where the vast majority of Tulsi supporters, volunteers, and staff are Dems and Dem-leaning independents
-
-
because they can relate to being attacked and smeared Because Tulsi appeared on Rogan and Fox news several times, a willingness to operate in good faith Because she bucked the establishment on principal and stands up to corruption
-
You don’t have to agree with someone to respect them. And if someone who’s earned your respect is attacked, it’s natural to defend them.

There is widespread support against the regime change wars. The left does not cover Coulter, Alex Jones and others who were leading this on the right. The right sees these wars as the greatest drain on the US that threatens it (economically + principles from its constitution).
-
The right (the anti establishment / Trump supporters), excluding the Ben Shapiro crowd, will stand up for anyone joining them to end the regime change wars. Wars undermine citizens.
@caitoz tried to join the right against these regime change wars and the left went after her.

I disagree with her on lots of points, but there are two that override all the others: Her uncompromising anti-war stance (which is what I thought I was getting with Trump) and her basic decency, i.e. treating even her opponents with civility.

There is a reason so many are independent or don't vote at all. Because most of are to the left on some issues and to the right on other issues and really aren't well represented by either party.

Because anti-war sentiments are growing on the right because of disillusioned war vets and libertarians.

A lot of people who voted for Trump wanted Bernie but were screwed over by Clinton . Many Republicans want an end to these wars not to mention a lot of conservatives serve in our military .It's called having common ground and respect for someone who's a veteran .

Because they see ending fiscally destructive wars as a basic requirement before anything else can be done. They also realize regulating fossil fuels and the healthcare system require congress, not just the president...so they still have skin in the game. FP not so much.

Because even insane right wingers, want a habitable Planet & universal health care as well, they are just confused about how to get it.

Agreed. My neighbor often works in his yard blasting right wing radio. I've talked to him 3 times about MedicareForAll. The last time, he actually agreed with me.

The New York Times wrote an op-ed where they "interviewed" a "Trump supporter" who the writer just made up. I disagree with almost everything Tulsi believes but she is willing to actually talk. I'll always get behind people willing to talk to opponents.https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/03/opinion/trump-voters.html …

She has the worst domestic policy. Having someone who is earnestly anti war and bringing that up is good, also taking kopmala down is a plus

If war is the most important issue and the one where the POTUS has most control then of course we can build a coalition despite other major differences.
