Technically, when there was debate six or so years ago, there was very little public support for going -- which is why the AUMF was never passed, etc. etc.

The debate in 2013 led to a decisive NO in terms of public sentiment but then when troops were ultimately sent a year later, it was accompanied by no public debate.

I am more interested in the intense national debate about whether the weekly sponge baths Michael Tracey receives from his mom are a public service or just plain creepy.

The phrase 'No boots on the ground" keeps coming back to memory, then "no combat" boots on the ground - you know, "advisors"! The 50 people Pres. Trump re-located were supposed to be there one month. They were there 10 years!

There was a debate. In Congress. They said no(for the wrong reasons,but...). And we went anyways, because : "terrorism". Unless you believe Ana,who says we're there to protect the Kurds. But what would I know. I'M not progressive...

There was never a congressional vote to go into Syria in the first place. Ppl should remember that Congress is the only branch of government that can declare war. If they want to go to war w Turkey...take a vote!

Once Congress declares war it’s hard to end it. Oh wait, they refused to declare war but they are united in not ending it.
-
Wild, huh? Congress fighting to continue a war that it never authorized!
