Few pundits screaming about Syria ever objected as the US got progressively entangled in a situation that was obviously unsustainable in the long-term. They either ignored or cheered it for years. The faux outrage/crocodile tears have been noted, and disregarded

Exactly this...every liberal with a blue check mark has suddenly become an expert in foreign politics. I've actually been reading about the issue for years and still don't understand it all.

I think the President done the right thing by taking our troops out of harms way...my probably is how he done it. He could have given the Kurds a little advance notice...at least a week so they could have moved their women, children and other non-combatants to safer ground.

The kurds had 3 years of advanced notice. He said he was going to do this from day one. He gave them 3 years.

Going out on a limb here. Probably safe to bring our troops back from Germany. We don’t need Middle East oil. We can destroy any country that gets out of line in a week from afar if they start rebuilding training camps.

I doubt many can understand the mind blowing complexity of the various factions and cross currents tearing through that country right now. It is hardly a binary situation.

I didn't know anyone else knew the US was in Syria! most Americans think only about their own country and think nothing about why the US has over 835 bases in other countries, about why the US has over 35 sanctions going on now, about why the US has coup-ed Ukraine in 2014!

This is what always happens with foreign policy: The Military Industrial Congressional Media Academia Intelligence Think_Tank* complex rewards pro-Empire groupthink, not truth. And there is no incentive for the individual to be right if that requires deviating from the group.
