It was taken off of hair trigger alert in Sep 1992. I know, i was in the strategic air command at the time. It was done so because of the fall of the Soviet union.

More importantly, ask Tulsi exactly how we are on a 'hair trigger' since it's never happened.
-
It actually has almost happened. The fact we haven't had a nuclear accident is due largely to luck.

It only takes 5 minutes for a Russian or Chinese submarine loaded with nuclear missiles to hit targets in the US including NYC, Washington D.C., and LA ... so just maybe we don't want to lengthen the time for us to respond.

Is that even an issue, or did Tulsi just invent it as an issue?

If you ask corporate media tools, they’d say no

I really like Tulsi overall, but I disagree with her nuclear stance: We are not at a place right now where we can afford to have Western democracies, especially the US, even remotely signal that disarmament is being considered. There are far too many bad actors around for that.
-
Unfortunately, we always have to have it on the table, for reasons you stated. With that said, I wish we had louder voices that pushed for more transparency! Media isn’t skeptical w/pentagon spending, they parrot the same war hawks that got us into Iraq & want us to stay in ME!

Dunno. When it comes to what Elizabeth Warren thinks, you'd have to ask Hillary.

And she shared Ellen's video about being friends with war criminal G.W. Bush saying that we should follow Ellen's example.
