Colloquially the term “whistleblower” connotes a level of virtue and selflessness that the CIA officer (or officers) machinating against Trump have yet to demonstrate. Sorry if pointing that out offends you

Something fishy about insisting that most everyone else misunderstands the "colloquial" meaning of a word

A whistleblower is any organizational insider who reports (internally or to the press) on malfeasance they witnessed performed by agents of the organization. That’s all it takes. They don’t have to earn a Michael Tracey approved “pure heart” merit badge to qualify

I think that whistleblowers don't need to witness the malfeasance themselves. It's enough for writing their complaints to witness repeated and consistent chatter about malfeasances.

Really what they are doing is destroying the whole whistleblower process.

He's LITERALLY Fighting to maintain it. USA has persecuted 300+ Military/Security/Intel WHISTLEBLOWERS this century. This is convenient and suspiciously supports the existing goals and objectives positions of countless current and ex Intel Execs like Bremmer and Clapper.

The term “whistleblower” implies a morally courageous and honest person who is willing to endure attacks, setbacks and even death in order to tell the truth. This is why real whistleblowers are rare.

Not at all. John Kiriakou made a valiant point about how the whistleblower should not just stop here. They should reveal all of the torture committed and killings of people.

#CIA and the terms “virtue” and “selflessness” can never realistically be used together. It’s impossible.

A Whistleblower reports on a higher authority that is actively trying to prevent the information/evidence they have from being brought to the public's attention. There is no evidence anyone in authority over these agents has tried to suppress this information The opposite is true
