Having a heart attack in the middle of a presidential campaign at age 78 is really not good. I like Bernie, voted for him in 2016, would probably vote for him again. But... let's acknowledge what just happened here

I'd probably vote for him notwithstanding any health issues. But at least in terms of public perception, it's pretty bad. You can't blame voters for taking this into account. Media coverage of him is often skewed/unfair, but the campaign itself just confirmed the heart attack

Ok. It’s acknowledged. Now what? I still support him. I don’t get your concern troll. People will make of it what they will and that’s the end of it

How is this a “concern troll”? He had a heart attack as confirmed by his own campaign. So it should be acknowledged honestly rather than spun. I’m not saying anyone needs to alter their voting preference. As I said in the tweet, I will probably vote for him regardless.

Honestly, all of the top candidates have this issue. It's not just about health either, but the ability of someone 70+ to govern in an age defined by rapid technological change as well as grapple with issues like cybersecurty, cryptocurrency, AI, automation, deepfakes, ect.

These things are of vital national security and economic interest and tie into dozens of other interrelated issues, so it's not something they can simply rely on advisers for either. We cant trust someone who started using a computer in their 50s to make good decisions on this.

...and let's acknowledge that people who support him are still going to vote for him because he's the only one truly speaking truth to power. And anyone who doesn't vote for him because of this wasn't going to, anyway.

Have you seen his daily schedule for the last 8 months? If Bernie were frail he would have succumbed long ago. He just played a public baseball game last month. Didn't look like a man who's ready to give up the fight. Nor should he.

It wasn’t a heart attack. He felt chest discomfort and went to the hospital to check it out, and found plaque buildup in the arteries, for which stents are a standard procedure. He was keeping up an insane schedule with only 70% blood flow. He’ll be at 100% next week.

I can’t believe he is going to be in the October debates!? That’s crazy! I would think you would need a few weeks recovery time after a heart attack? Plus the stress on his heart when he isn’t even healed yet. Yikes.

There's levels of severity when it comes to heart attacks. Seeing as he was released now, it couldn't have been that serious.

Heart disease is the number one cause of death. Anyone acting as if they DONT have a loved one affected by it is lying. People live with it everyday. Even the almighty Bill C. Had heart issues. Bernie just needs a plant based diet and he will be good to go!
