Trump/GOP have convinced themselves that the media is desperate to protect Biden... which is ridiculous. Biden has gotten overwhelmingly negative coverage since he announced his campaign and much of the media finds the idea of him becoming Dem nominee viscerally offensive

To the extent they're "defending" Biden it's because they're reacting to Trump's attacks -- not because they're on any fundamental level pro-Biden. Compare the overall tenor of Biden coverage to Warren/Harris and you kinda get the picture

“Reacting to Trump’s attacks” You just said it—they’d rather run some interference for Biden than give a solitary centimeter to Trump by admitting he may have even a scintilla of a point. From that perspective, coverage still looks positive for Biden vis-a-vis Trump on this issue

Michael, you are truly awesome, but your hyper-nuanced views on Biden always just confuse me. So Biden is a stronger candidate than most people think, but he’s also dishonest and/or senile & the corporate media isn’t really on his side? I feel dumb when I try to understahd this

not speaking for michael, but the things you listed aren't mutually exclusive. He is a stronger candidate than most think-- there's been repeated predictions he'll falter, it's only now starting to happen--but he's also senile, dishonest, and without the media coverage of Warren.

while recently, positive coverage has skewed towards warren, it's ignorant ro suggest the media isn't in the tank for biden. under reporting his gaffes/flaws, suggesting he's performing well in debates, and now denying any corruption re: ukraine/china

There should be no inference of ‘defending’ or ‘attacking’ by an honest media that simply presents facts. Right?

They certainly aren't questioning the obvious corruption going on with Hunter Biden. Probably because Pelosi's son had a similar deal in Ukraine.

They are protecting Biden because he is the weak link and once it comes apart, the entire thread of deep corruption and self dealing is completely exposed... including their own and their relatives/spouses in political positions

But still not addressing the core issue of corruption and nepotism, which even NYT covered several years ago. That is the story, not DJT's tone in a press conference. This is what the public sees, and he is reflecting (not creating). This is a big problem.

He’s looking at a longer game. He’ll use the media’s OWN coverage to discredit them. Also the Obama whitehouse which he hopes to do via RussiaGate and corruption allegations. Warren is very formidable but she fits his narrative - Pick me or its socialism. That’s his calculation
