I honestly wish Bernie all the best health-wise but it would be nice to know if he had a heart attack. The descriptions of what happened aren't exactly clear.

the fact that he was able to communicate he was experiencing chest pain and treat the issue via two stents to unclog just one artery means it likely was a mild form of heart attack and prevented anything serious or permanent

I hope so but a heart attack followed by emergency (life-saving?) surgery seems pretty serious.

if it was Angina they'd have said so, to be clear it was NOT a heart attack imo, if they are being vague and canceling ads runs and events until further notice it was a heart attacl

I'm a registered nurse who works with cardiac patients. Heart attack (myocardial infarction) involves tissue death due to occlusion of arteries feeding the heart. He had reduced cardiac perfusion d/t occlusion, which caused symptoms, but not tissue death. So NOT heart attack.

It's common to have such symptoms and stent placement without it being an MI. It's not simply PR.

The Bernie people are gonna say it is nothing major, just a minor blip. The Bernie haters will say its over and he will drop out of the campaign. What the real truth is - time will tell. There is an upcoming debate in two weeks, if Bernie no shows it could be a sign of trouble.

Ugh. I have a parent who has had this exact surgery… twice. Both time as the result of a “heart attack.”

You can have a stent put without having a heart attack . Chest pain or other symptoms may reveal a blockage that is not total and is swiftly dealt with via an angioplasty or a bypass, depending on cases .

He had chest pain, went to be evaluated and found to have blockage in some heart vessels. Had stents put in to open these vessels. He had a heart attack but using that term can make the situation worse than it really is.

Partial blockage can cause pain without it being a heart attack. It's called angina. Note how it says get medical treatment to prevent heart attack. Not saying he didn't, just saying it's not inherent in chest pain.pic.twitter.com/FW3h6lluJ2

Chest discomfort (angina) fixed by a stent. Heart attack is not a medical term. He has heart disease.

Dude, Bernie Sanders had chest pain that resulted in an emergency procedure requiring two stints, that's the classic definition of a "Heart Attack".

It’s pretty clear but the media doesn’t want everyone to know the truth. He had a minor heart attack and went to the hospital. Nowadays, 95% of open heart surgery is avoided by using angioplasty (stents) to open arteries. Likely he has blockage in other arteries as well

No just chest pains. He's now better than ever so theres no need to worry anymore. Should he take it easy and not do so many events in a short period of time. Yes i agree, but his health is very good for his age. Trust me his stamina is probably more than yours and mine combined!

Heart attack can be reversible or irreversible. Stent will reopen the flow in the damage artery.
